Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 7 September 2026

Suvisesha Doothan respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly and securely. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, when it may be shared and the choices available to you. This policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.

1. Who We Are

Suvisesha Doothan is operated by the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association, Tiruvalla, Kerala, India. For privacy-related enquiries, contact suviseshadoothan@gmail.com.

2. Personal Information We May Collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect information such as your name, email address, telephone number, account details, subscription plan, subscription history, transaction status, payment reference, invoice information, messages submitted through contact or support forms, and technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information and security logs.

Passwords are stored using secure password-handling mechanisms and should not be stored in readable plain-text form. Complete debit-card, credit-card or similar payment credentials are normally processed by the applicable payment gateway rather than stored by Suvisesha Doothan.

3. Why We Use Your Information

We may process personal information to create and manage your account, authenticate users, process subscriptions and payments, provide access to publications, issue invoices or confirmations, provide customer support, respond to enquiries, send essential account and subscription communications, maintain website security, investigate misuse or fraud, keep records required for accounting or legal purposes and comply with applicable law.

Where consent is legally required, information will be processed on the basis of appropriate consent.

4. Registration Information

Information requested during registration is used to identify the subscriber, maintain the user account, provide subscription access and communicate regarding the service. Users are responsible for keeping their information accurate and current.

5. Payment Information

Payments may be handled by third-party payment gateways. We may receive transaction information such as payment status, transaction/reference number, amount, payment method category and payment date. We do not require users to provide complete card credentials directly to Suvisesha Doothan where the transaction is processed securely by the payment provider.

6. Cookies and Technical Information

The website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for login sessions, security, website preferences and proper functioning of the subscription service. Where optional analytics or other non-essential tracking technologies are introduced, they should be used in accordance with applicable consent requirements.

Users can normally control cookies through their browser settings, although disabling essential cookies may affect login or account functionality.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared only where reasonably necessary with service providers involved in hosting, payment processing, email delivery, website security, technical support or other services required to operate Suvisesha Doothan.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, court order, government authority or lawful regulatory process, or where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud or protect the security of users and the website. Service providers should receive only information reasonably necessary for their role.

8. Data Retention

Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain subscription and transaction records, resolve disputes, meet accounting or statutory obligations, prevent fraud or comply with applicable law. Information that is no longer reasonably required will be deleted, anonymised or securely archived where appropriate and technically feasible.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, organisational and technical safeguards intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, destruction or misuse. These measures may include access controls, password protection, secure connections, restricted administrative access, security monitoring and appropriate server protections.

No online system can guarantee absolute security. Users should therefore also protect their passwords and devices.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable Indian law and the commencement of relevant statutory provisions, you may have rights relating to your personal data, including rights to request information about processing, seek correction or updating of inaccurate information, request erasure where legally available, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and raise a grievance.

Withdrawal of consent will not invalidate processing that was lawful before the withdrawal and may affect services that require the relevant information. Requests may be sent to suviseshadoothan@gmail.com.

11. Children’s Data

Where personal data of a person below 18 years is processed and applicable law requires parental or guardian consent, appropriate verifiable consent must be obtained from the parent or lawful guardian. We do not knowingly seek to use children’s personal data for behavioural advertising or other inappropriate purposes.

12. International Service Providers

Some technology providers used for hosting, email, security or payment processing may process information using infrastructure located outside India. Where this occurs, such processing will be subject to applicable Indian legal requirements and any restrictions notified by competent authorities.

13. Links to Other Websites

Our website may contain links to external websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and Suvisesha Doothan is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third-party websites.

14. Data Breach and Security Incidents

Where a personal-data breach or security incident occurs, we will take reasonable steps to contain and investigate the incident and will make notifications required by applicable Indian law.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical or operational changes. The latest version will be published on this page with the revised date.
